My second K2 (Lithium 3.0) and my second full suspension I bought the spring of ’08 and have several thousand miles on it now. Originally it was my stateside bike but when I got the Tomac I sent It north to use in Alaska. Although K2 has since sold out and is now defunct this was one of their last decent bikes and for the money spent I wont complain about it at all. It is heavy and I had a hard time dialing in the suspension until I installed a Marzzuchi Bomber fork that made a world of difference. The brakes have been upgraded but the drive train is all still original and wearing out. I have sworn for a year every time I ride it would be the last however it just keeps ticking along.
I have literally rode this bike into the ground, picked it up, whipped it off and done it again- over and over. This bike has taught me a lot about maintenance, what works and what doesn’t. This is the one I will remember as the bike that honed my passion for the sport.Has been a fantasic bike- but a terrible boat! R.I.P. As of 6/11 the K2 has finally been ‘parted out’. Many more photos and story here; Parting is such sweet- |
